and just worth mentioning, you guys shoulda seen the slop in the guides of my dads diesel head after a million miles. SO sloppy yet the motor was still running fine. we only tore it down because the balancer bolt holes were screwed up in the crank and the head gasket was leaking water down the side of the block. he was on a budget, and we knurled the guides and reground the old valves. back on the road he is, and will probably run hundreds of thousands of miles again.
