Default Paint Question

It's been a few years since I've been able to mess with my car and I had bought some red paint to use. Well now the solvent has mostly evaporated. What I need to know before I trash it, is what kind of solvent do I use to salvage this paint, I know it's not thinner cause that is what you use to paint with.

By "salvage" do you mean actually try to use it, or just liquify it enough to dump it. It's probably not salvagable if it is coagulated. Where I live we can't just trash paint. It's not legal to send it to the landfill. We have to take it to a state pick up point.A lot of it ends up as cheap fuel for heating units that can burn paint and solvents and such.

With the price of auto paint I'd like to try to use it, but if not I will take it to a disposal site.

How old is it ans has it ever been opened before now? I would doubt you can use it. You just don't add solvent to paint to make it useable. There are other binders mixed in that may have been lost.

Yea, if the solvents have evaporated off it is trash for the most part.

Since it is red you might want to use it on a pic-nic table or some planter boxes....

I have painted a few airlanes in my time and if that paint is as old as you say..toss it and get some new. Dont take the chance using old paint on your classic. Once its started to solidify its no good anymore. If you have a boat and fuish....it mgiht make a good boat anchor.

It's been opened, I had used about a 1/4 of it before being side tracked. I was just hoping to be able to replace the solvent and/orbinders and use it. Guess I'll trash it.
Thanks for all the info.
