If you look at my image gallery, my block is painted corporate blue and my water neck is old ford blue. This was done about 15 years ago, but big difference between the two.

 

Actually the correct color for a '65 block is black with gold valve covers.

 

I just did a test paint with all three colors.

1603 Dark Blue was the darkest
1601 Ford Blue was the lightest
1621 Old Ford Blue was in the middle

I will try to take a picture or all three, but Old Ford Blue best matches my current engine color. That is does not mean much since the PO painted it, but it looks right. I think 1601 might be really light once it is on. Wish I knew what color Corporate Blue really was.

 

I used Pasti-Kote #224 and I'm really happy with the result.

I don't know what the correct color would be to paint it, but I like the dark blue better than the regular Ford blue. Just my .02.
