REPRODUCTION DOORS (Please advise)
I have a 64.5 Convertible (rustang) "D" code (fact 4v) factory 4 speed. I'm gonna be replacing a lot of sheet metal. I'm not new to this so I have bought and replaced just about every reproduction piece of sheet metal for a Mustang over the years. The only thing I haven't bought so far are the repop doors. Can somebody please give me their findings as far as fit and finish, this is going to be a driver for my daughter. I could possibly put door skins on as well. I 've put plenty on newer cars but not on an old Mustang. Anybody ever put skins on an old Mustang?
I'm not going to put up a picture of the car just yet, I'm sure some smarta$$ would say carry it on to the crusher. What I do is a labor of love, and the car was given to me. I look at the glass as half full, at least half of the sheet metal is bolt on.
Cost of project so far $0.00
Thanks

I dont know anything about repop doors, but i think you can pick up original ones in pristine shape online or at a junkyard from cars that were in front/rear accidents.
with my repop door skins, it seemed to fit pretty good, but my body shop had to do a lot to make it just right I believe. And the only problem with mine was that the lines/edges were not as crisp as original stuff, but with the body work the shop was able to make it just as crisp and clean.
just one thing to keep in mind.
