Holy f*()* what was he thinking? I understand perhaps one issue (it happens) but it was not one mistake but a completely neglectful build and startup. I feel for you completely what a bunch of crap.
I at this point would resort to slow and painful torture... maybe a blow torch or bamboo shoots...[sm=badbadbad.gif] ...

Have you told the both of them yet? At least you now know what the issue is, now find the damage. As mentioned earlier, maybe it isn't as bad as you may think. I would definately have the heads helicoiled and keep the receipt for numb nuts. What did your engine builder say? Now you have got me worried about my builder.

DONT FORGET TO ROLL THE PUSH ROD!!!
One thing that I have encountered, the weakest link would give.
By that I picked up a old 327 with the double hump heads(telling how old I am now lol) Cheap I think I gave 250-275$??about 15 years ago.
Turned out a nut had been dropped in the intake @ some point and found its way in the cylinder. Scared piston scratched exhaust valve and 1 bent push rod.
I just replaced the bent push rod and it lasted me for years in a 66 impalla.
