Default WATER TEMPERATURE

What is considered safe water temperatures on a 302W in a 65 coupe. Very curious, I though it was between 185-215 degrees.

Furthermore can any one recommend a good high performance water pump for the same car. (counter clockwise direction turn) Thanks

between 185 and 215 is about right, although 185 is lower than I'd recommend. The engines came with 192/195 t-stats from the factory, meaning they were designed to run at 200-210 in the first place. The hotter temp reduces quench in the chambers, providing better efficiency and resulting in less carbon buildup.

My 331 runs at 195-215 (depending on weather and driving conditions) all day. I generally don't start to worry until I hit 220.
