It is no problem. To make it easier, unbolt the steering idler arm from the passenger side framerail so the linkage drops down and gives a bit more clearance. Also, have a helper to help guide the assembly as you remove it and use an adjustable equalizer so you can pivot the engine as required.

Good luck!

I pulled my 289 and c4 together a couple months ago. The only problem was my Hooker LT headers kept hitting the shock towers and something else underneath, so I unhooked them and it came out nice. Just make sure all wires and linkages are loose. If you get frustrated back off for a minute, get you a drink and go back and it will be alright. Good luck with it!!!

What every you do dont walk away from the engine crane once you start pulling the motor. They are hydraulic and can lose pressure. It would suck to walk away for a second, then come back and find that the crane or engine had dropped onto the front of your car.

I just pulled a 327 with transmission out of my corvette last summer. It took about a half hour.

Like everyone else said, make sure you remove as much stuff out of the way as possible. You will want room. Also get an engine tilter for the engine crane. Make sure you use grade 8 bolts as well and be sure you are secured to the engine properly.

Good to know, I have to do the same thing except with a t-10 instead of c-4. Has to be easier than splitting them and taking the trans out the bottom. Good luck.
