I heard that they put the rb26 in there cuz they thought there was no way that american muscle could make enough power to drift a car, but they ended up having to put a v8 in for some of the scenes because the nissan couldnt drift it.

Years ago i bought a 61 falcon from a guy that was in a falcon club.
They had built several falcons this way and was building a 67 fastback with a f150 inline 300 6 cyl.
Novi 1200 paxton and those things were quick turning high 11's with 411 gears!
I may do something like that myself in a parts car 65 siting out back.

lol. i wouldnt quite call parking lot escapades or whatever drifting. Real drift cars are pretty sweet, but most of the setup is in the suspension and tires.
