sup you guys... i have an FMX tranny 3 speed in my 69 mach1.... i just wanted to see if anyone has changed it out and put a 4,5 or maybe 6 speed in it... like is it worth it.. will it take value off the car...

i jut hate driving on the freeway like 70 mph and its really loud and sounds like the motor cant go anymore... i just got the FMX rebuilt with my uncle so i didnt pay much to get it done... and got the 351 rebuilt to.... i just wanted to see what have you guys done for this.... anything ??

the 5spd swap is very popular and adds a siginifcant amount of gas mileage, and quites the cars at speed, pretty much making it cruise like a late model. check out the faq i believe theres some swap info in the faq if not do a quick search basically youll need a t5 froma 5.0 mustang 1986-1993 a 28oz flywheel, clutch, pilot bearing, a new crossmember, pedal setup, cable and to shorten the drive shaft approx 1inch

Man what rear end gears do you have? I have 2.8 something in mine and it cruises at 80 with no noise whatsoever. I would suspect you have other troubles. But if you are going to do a swap and you want an easy one then I would do an AOD.

but, yeah, i hit 70 and things get spun pretty tight and loud as well.

mmm yeah i just want to be cruising and not at a high rpm... does anyone know how much it would cost me to do that swap.... with me buying the t5.... its an automatic and prolly would get a t5 auto again... cuz changing it to a stick would be to much work... right?

never done it myself, but seems doable from what ive read. adding pedals, (i believe there are holes even if you have auto?) clutch and new trans i guess you could say its similar to a cltuch change?
