Default 66 gauge cluster

I own a 65 mustang and i recently purchased a 66 cluster to install in it. When i got it i noticed the bottom holes are different than the 65 cluster. Has anyone ran into this problem? How do you make the 66 cluster work in the 65?

I did the same thing. All that is required to make it fit is cut a small part out of the dash where the centre of the cluster fits into it. It is not a hard job. JamesW website shows how to do it very well. Then the sender for the oil gauge and the wiring for the anmeter have to be altered. Check james website first it is very informative.

The bottom holes look like they are at different angles compared to the 65 cluster.

they are different. You can bend them a little so they'll catch with the lower screws
