Carter AFB id numbers

Default Carter AFB id numbers

I aquired a Carter AFB for a beer from I guy down the bar, I was told it came from a ford v8 I just need to id it. Anybody know were to find to find a carter decoder. It has a number 2B4 9637S on the base,6-2770 on the on the top. Cheers Paddy

it is a later modle 625 CFM carb.

The 9(000) refers to the series
The next three #s are a direct size if the # ends in 5 or 0 so a 9500 would be a 500 CFM and a 9625 would be a 635 CFM
Adding a 10 to the # means that is is set up for EGR
and adding 2 to the # means it is for a Ford

SOOOO

9637 is a 625. EGR ready Ford carb. Let me know if you need any other info.

Daze,

Thanks for the info on the carb. I got the ford part but was struggling with the with extra 10 part. I think it was worth the beer I gave the guy then.
