Default 65 Convertible

I am getting my 65 convertible painted and wanted to know what color to paint the top frame. The exterior will be Candyapple Red, the interior is red with red/white pony seats and the top is white. Does anyone know how the top frames were originally painted?

black is the only convert. frame color i think ford ever used.
My 67 Galaxie convert. frame is black. So was every convert I have owned over the years from bmw to miata, ford and chevy have all been black now that I think about it.

Probably black.

Welcome to the MustangForums! One tip, "65 Convertible" is a lousy title for a thread, you might try "vert top frame color?"

+1. My '67's top frame is black too, looks to be a satin finish.
