Coil Placement on a 289 1966

Default Coil Placement on a 289 1966

I have seen the coil placed in many different places...what is the correct placement of the coil?

I beleive the orginal postion was on the intake manifold, but alot people move them to the front of the block or even side of the engine bay to avoid overheating.

thanks-thats were mine was for the the last 42 years...just moved it to the front of the block yesterday,know your telling me it belongs on the manifold ! I can win Scott
