Default Please Help with wheels

I have asked several times about wheels for my 66 and cant get an answer. I am looking for 17 or 18 inch wheels for the coupe.
What back space do they need in the front and the back?
I am looking for something like the fr500s in that size or a wheel that looks like the torque thrust.
i am ready to purchase but need to know where to go. i emailed the wheel shops linked from this sight and never heard back.
I am in AZ and need these to get the car rolling around.

Thanks

with a 17" or 18" rim, you should have a wide range of choices. To find the exact backspacing you need, you first must figure out how wide of a wheel you are going to run.

The following is a list of optimal* BS for different rim widths for a 64-66.

Width BackSpace
5.5" 3.5"
6.0" 3.75"
6.5" 4"
7.0" 4.25"
8.0" 4.75"
8.5" 5.0" (I'm not sure ifarim wider than 8" would fit though)

*If you deviate from the numbers above, the rim might still fit, butwill not line up in the center of the wheel well. That will limit the width of the tire that can be used.

it shouldn't be too hard to find a torq thrust that fits a 66, but the fr500 might be kinda tricky.

If your looking to put 05 or newer rims on, I believe they all have an offset of 6 inches. You would need to run a 2" spacer in the front to clear the upper control arm. Rears you could run an 1.5" spacer. That is what I have done with my 68.

If you like "Bullitt" style wheels you can buy them brand new off ebay for about $700. They bolt right on to a 5 lug classic stang with no spacers needed. I am running some black ones with 235/45/17 in front and 245/45/17 in the rear and they look sweet. You should give them a look.

yes. Those numbers should hold true for the front and rear. I got 235s to fit in front on a 15x6 rim. There's no way I could have done that without the perfect backspacing/rim size.

BTW: I talked with Dodgestang quite a bit before I selected my setup.
