ralley stripes
can anyone explain the reason that the ralley stripes have a taper. I was just in the faq looking to paint stripes and they are not uniform widths. I was always under the assumpion that they were a uniform thickness through out the cars length.
The offset measurements in the stripes are there to give the illusion of them being the same size the further back they go. Googling shows what the currect measurements should be.. Here is a page
Shelby figured that out for the first shelby mustangs. If you paint them the same uniform width the entire length of the car they appear to get narrower the farther away you look down the car. With the tapering it appears uniform.
