i was putting a mr gasket clear fuel filter on and it leaks. some how fuel got on my coil and started a fire. thank god i have fire extinasures in my car. i took that pos off and now im running the oem sytle filter

Hopefully you didn't sustain much damage. Cleanup could still be a pain in the butt.

 

yea my whole engine is now white from the extinuser. no harm just gave me a heart attack

oh nvm my other post. i was wondering how u set the engine on fire.

ive set mine on fire a few times through my carb. but i can just blow it out. i would only use an extinguisher if its a must. and you can always suffocate it with a blanket thrown on top too.

Fire extinguishers are great, but if you have evertried to startan engine that has ingested some of that crap (beyond the air filter),,,,,,, wow...

I had to start a car that had had a major hood fire, it took me a long, long time to fire that puppy!! (come to think of it, the car was an early Fox 2.3 Mustang)

Congrats on the little or no damage, and yes, the glass fuel filters are major pieces and a fire hazard. Besides that they don't filter worth a damn!!
