It basically how big the marks are from machining. The lower the number, the smaller the marks. Since cometics are steel on steel, the marks have to be very small, or they will leak.felpros are a litle more forgiving since they have a small plastic coating on them, but not much.
thanks 68. I bet you are stoked as well. Have you re torqued your heads? The water stopped leaking but then oil started leaking from the heads. I didn't think it was possible but it did. The oil was from the oil return hole. It leaked inbetween the block and the heads. Then yesterday I sprang a water leak up front. I tore the engine apart last night and today put it back together with Fel Pro 1021's. I put long tube headers on it today in the engine run stand. Now that sounds awesome! Much better than the shorties. I didn't have my camera with me today but I will get some vids tomorrow night.
I don't know what the RA was but the block was clean and the heads were resurfaced. I wish they would have worked since it's impossible to blow a Cometic.

I'm sure I will miss something, but here is what I can think of right now.
stock 87 roller block
PBM Scat forged crank
Main stud girdle and windage tray
PBM H beam rods
JE dished pistons .40 over making the engine 349ci
ARP fasteners throughout
Ford Racing double timing chain
Professional Products harmonic balancer
TFS street aluminum heads 2.02/1.60
ARP head studs
TFS 1.7 roller rockers
Lunati 51018LUN .560/.570 lift cam shaft
Weiand 174 Procharger 6 psi boost (will go 10 psi )
March underdrive pulley serpentine conversion kit
Pro-Form 750 mechanical race series carburetor
Alcohol Injection Systems
I was able to find some long tubes that were extended for a rail. They worked perfect for the engine run stand. Here is the latest video clip.

That vid with the long tubes sounds great!
LOL your like a lil kid jumping up and down with the throttle.
Thats awesome! Think youll run long tube before its over?
I have the mac shorty's and every thing hooked up no, just like the sound of the long tubes.
May hve to do some cutting and welding on a set of old tri y's sitiing in the shop.

I would like to run long tubes since I'm sure I'll have plenty of bottom end. I will use the shorties until I invest in a nice pair of long tubes. Now all I need to do is bolt her in!
