Looking into that.
You think this wouldnt be hard to do but space is limited wit the new exhaust.

Need to keep it as close and as low as possible to the tank these are push fuel pumps better than pull fuel.
While this is true, the pump will certainly push better than it will pull, it is my opinion that the pump will pull well enough to serve it's intended purpose!

In other words I think the pump would work just fine if it were mounted further forward.

We installed a Holley fuel pump on my son's approx 450 HP Chevy P/U at better than halfway forwardbetween the tank and the carb. It works absolutely without issue and delivers plenty of fuel.

That pump of yours will have plenty of "excess capacity" to get the job done, even if mounted well forward.

I realize that the directions that came with the pump and pretty much everyones opinion is that the pump should be right next to the tank, but sometimes we have to bend the rules!

There are always compromises between performance and street-ability/reality on these old Mustangs. If it were my car I would move the pump forward... Less than "ideal"? yep, will you ever be able to tell when driving the car under any conditions? I don't think so.

Take Care!

The tank is rectangular, so is there any reason you cannot rotate it 180 degrees so the connection is to the front by the axle, similar to the stock location?

Yep, if it were my car I would feel better about the whole setup if this were possible!

Under acceleration thought that would cause starvation of fuel.

With it being a fuel cell, wouldn't it need to be pretty low on fuelfor all ofthe fuel to move away from the outlet?

I think after looking it all over im going back to the dumps for now.
The fuel system works it runs and that solves the problem for now.
I need to get this thing on the road asap.
Ill use the tail pipes on the 65 fastback.
Thanks for all the input and ideas guys.
Later after this season come winter again ill change a few things just itching to drive it as soon as i can.
