I personally wouldn't recommend larger than 1" unless you install a rear bar as well. I've got a 15/16" on the front of mine (with no rear bar) and it's perfect, bordering on too stiff for a car without the Shelby drop and limited traction (Radial T/A's suck). It tends to plow into corners if I'm not careful.

Poly bushings on sway bars aren't too bad, it's everywhere else that they tend to cause problems. Grease the bushings and you should be fine.

I installed mine by myself, although I had it on a lift for part of the installation. You should be able to do it on the ground, although you may need to slightly jack the car up to get the nuts on the end link bolts.

While you're in the store, check out the cars they have in the showroom. Sometimes they'll have their race car(s) there, sometimes the Colt 351 or some of their other street cars. It's niceto see some of the restomod stuff they sell actually on a car before you consider buying it.

Thanks for the good info, Tad.
I will probably be heading out to Stockton today and I guess I will just wing it on what I am going to get... I shopped around in some of the catalogs and I think I am just going to go with the grab a track, despite varying opinions. It seems like it should be good enough quality for my purposes. I am not going to be taking this ol girl out on the track anytime soon and I just want her to be a little more stiff.

Do you have an export brace and monte carlo bar as well? If not, now's a good time.

Yeah I do... both.

I just got back from Mustangs Plus with a little overkill, I think but oh well.
I came home with two new 620 coil springs to replace my stockers, a new 180* high flow Milodon thermostat, the 1 1/8" Grab-a-Trac front sway bar, some weatherstripping I was needing...

The advice I got concerning squeaking poly bushings was to put a thin coat of anti-seize whereever there will be rubbing. The guys told me that grease attrtacts dirt so it will only work for so long, whereas the anti-seize does not attract dirt...

I hope the coil springs/sway bar are a good upgrade.
It's hard to pick and choose advice with this sort of thing but hopefully I made good decisions.

Thanks to alla y'all who helped give me some good things to think about.

All right so I couldnt wait... I installed the new 1 1/8" front sway bar and I love it. I took her out for a spin around the neighborhood and it feels great. It also just looks a lot tougher under there.

I was surprised how easy the job was.... even tho I almost chipped my front tooth trying to catch a falling bolt with my smile!

Thanks again to everyone who helped me out on this one!

lol....I actually have chipped one of my teeth doing that. Ratchet came right down on one of my front teeth and chipped the corner.

"Dude, I didn't chip a tooth, did I?"
"No, you're fine...that was always there, wasn't it?"
"....what was?"
"That little chip."
"No....****."

Fortunately, after some light dental work (with the dentist's equivalent of a die grinder) it's not noticable.

Lol, thanks for the story, Tad.
Yeah the bolt dropped down and just nailed me on the tooth... I have a little spot I can see it in the mirror but I dont think it is really cracked or anything. I am glad it happened with a bolt and not a ratchet! It was a good reminder to try to avoid leaving my face in places where gravity has a tendancy to work her magic.
Thanks again for all your advice here on the forums. I do appreciate it!
Cheers!
