1966 mustang 302 to 351W swap... questions??
1966 mustang, now has a 302, 4 speed toploader in it.
wanting to build a 357w for it, i heard the motor mounts are the same, but how much more wider is the body,,, and is it difficutlt to find headers for in there,
will the toploader bolt up to a 69-70 block?
has anyone done this swap? thanks in advance.

its an easy swap you will need the right exhaust headers, 351 front sump oil pan/pickup the tranny will work fine heres a link to the faq(frequently asked questions) https://mustangforums.com/m_3027145/tm.htm and heres a link from it about the 351 swap in a 65-66 car http://www.mustangsandmore.com/ubb/D...ngineSwap.html

RE: 1966 mustang 302 to 351W swap... questions??
As rmodel says it is a mostly no problem swap... The 351 will be taller and wider than a 302, Headers will be the biggest issue.. I had to "dimple" the Headman swap headers we used, (actually we dimpled them a lot).
Also, the 351 will be harder to get under the stock hood of a 66 than a 302.
Ours is very close, but it did fit with an Air Gap manifold and a very low profile air cleaner...
As far as I am concerned, these are the only issues worth mentioning.
