Default Repainting Rear End!

So since the floors are getting done and the whole underside of the car is being up together and repainted black i figure i should paint the rusty rearend and drums. So what kind of paint should i use so it doesnt chip and has anyone painted it silver? I was thinking something like silver might look really nice. I know the 69/70 rearend is all one piece so i cant get a chrome cover. Anyone have pictures or procedures i should do to clean it up nicely when painting?

silver would be cool.

im into the silver mood right now cause im painting my engine cast iron gray. which is like a dark metallic silver.

just make sure its REALLY clean with absolutely no grease or dirt.

If you don't mind striping it you can have it powder coated.

I used the silver on my roof for better strength when replacing my vinly roof. It doesn't look all that great on its own . Or is there a different one to use.

i wouldnt expect it to look all that great unless it was sprayed on the since the metallic would run together in brush stroke etc. but for something very durable i think it would be fine for his rear end. i used por15 to spray my brothers entire 69 cougar it was the black it looked like we had sprayed 2k it was very shiny, we then used the tie coat primer and were gonna do the body work over that. its been sitting outside for about 2yrs no surface rust at all
