distributor wire question

two wires coming out of distributor,...black goes to negative on coil, red goes to postive on coil? correct,..sorry for dumb question,...

so postive side of coil will have two wires connected to it? i have another wire connected to it from the wire harness,? correct?...

sounds like you have a petronix ignitor kit installed in your dizzy to eliminate the points black wire to neg coil..red to pos coil and the second wire on the coil is switched 12 volt ignition.. = correct

true... but he has what he has and must make use of it.. I have msd..but at one time I did have petronix

positive side of coil should have a wire coming from ignition switch
it should have 7.5V+ or 12V+ when ignition is on (depending if you have a resistor in your wire or not)
From here the distributor should get + for it's module as well.

So from this it does sound correct. Is it a new install?
any problems?

yes, everything in the engine bay is new, completely new install from bolts to block to wires, and i remember the old stock dizzy only having one wire that i think went to the negative on the coil and the wire from ignition went to +, but now i have two wires on positive and one on negative,...its a procomp dizzy with magnetic pickups, no more points for this pony
