Is duh blowuh gonna fit under a cowl? Or will there be cutting involved? And why so tight? Is it a 351 or the headers are just fat?

Well let me see if I can answer all the questions.

I'm not sure if the engine is at a different elevation. The headers were close before but they are touching now. So I would say the engine sits a little lower with my new motor mounts. I may move the engine forward a little and see if that solves the problem. I'm begining to think that's what the difference is. The bolts on the trans crossmember are all the way to the back of the slot. I can move the engine forward one inch.

I decided to jack the rear of the car up so we could stab the trans easier. I seen a pic of Carrol Shelby doing that with his cobras and it made sense. I was going to have to jack the whole car up but it would have made it difficult lifting the engine and trans that high. I felt really uneasy lifting all that weight with just 4 - 5/16" bolts in an aluminum manifold. I had visions of the whole thing crashing to the ground as the bolts tore out of the manifold.

Everything will fit without cutting. I may have to use a drop base air cleaner instead of my new oval cobra aire cleaner. I will be bummed.

I painted the engine compartment with bedliner paint. I described how to do it in other posts. I believe you can find the process if you do a search. Maybe in Soarings engine compartment thread at the top.

Tonight after work I was able to plumb the hydraulic clutch after getting some new fittings in Anchorage. I was able to find a nice remote reservoir in a ford ranger in my buddy's yard here at the shop. It was the last vehicle we checked! I even called all the parts houses and the dealers with no luck. After plumbing the lines and filling it with fluid, I was able to get about an inch of travel out of the slave cylinder after all the air was pushed out. I don't know how far it should travel. Should I adjust the clutch so there is no play in the pedal? I have about 4-5 inches of slack pedal right now before the slave starts to move.

After I adjust the slave, it's easy street from there. All I have to do is install the radiator, heater hoses, fuel pump, regulator, and ignition. The engine needs some serious tuning if you were able to watch the videos. It was running very rich. I guess that is a good starting point when you are dealing with a supercharger.

You definately don't want to start off lean on a blown engine.

Or you could end up with a blown blown engine.......or worse.......

Nice engine, major envy here.

I was having breakfast when I seen this...........Think I'll skip the rest of it. Puts the Plummers to shame. Glad you got it in. I would try to get the tune right before you push it too much. It should go like a Bat out of ****. Time to roast'em.

I have quite a few loose ends but I did get her running tonight. I need to weld one cut I made on the exhaust still. Also need to add trans gear lube to the toploader. What is the best oil for these? Should I run a royal purple synthetic?

I had to make a bracket for my radiator. It was not a direct bolt in as I thought it was.

Here are some pics of my header clearance. The passenger side has a gap about the thickness of a credit card. If the driver's side is not touching the steering box, it sure looks like it.
