I run heavy gear oil in my Toploader. The blocker rings need some friction in order to function properly, and some people run synthetic and have no issues, others say it doesn't work. I haven't tried synthetic in mine yet.

 

I drove her home. I still have a lot of details to take care of. It needs a tune badly. The toploader works awesome. I'm going to have lots of fun now. YouTube is doing some site maintenance right now so videos will probably be posted later. I will have to look for a drop base air cleaner for sure. The hood will not fit as it sits.

btw.. I'd be very grateful if you could update that Hydraulic Clutch thread from a few days back with some nice completed photos? Also anything you could comment on during the install. No rush as I'm simply buying the items as i find deals on them and an install I don't see happening before the fall at least. Still.. it would be sweet to wrap up that thread.
