I got a ticket for the exact same thing once. Sometimes the car your driving attracts the "unwanted" attention from the police. Just goes with the territory.
I don't buy that for a second.

I got the exact same ticket in 91 driving an 87 nissan sentra. Very common and not an attention getter in those days (or any day for that matter). Cop just busted him that's all.
That doesnt mean anything. It has been proven there are certain types of cars that cops are attracted to. Red ones, Yellow ones, Corvettes, Ricers, etc. A loud old mustang would prolly fall in that category.

That sucks. And it remindsme of a story. On the day I went for my driving test,Me and Dadtook my mustang to get the front end aligned. Hadn't really driven it yet. My license test was held in the parking lot across from the alignment shop. I was so excited about driving my Mustang home that I rolled through a stop sign and failed my driving test. I had to wait a whole week just to drive it. That SUCKED. Longest freaking week of my life. Oh well just thought I'd share that little experience.

yeah, gee forgot, law breaking had nothing to do with it. I've never seen a prius or honda civic (stock) pulled over or a white, black, orsilvercar for that matter.

You must not understand statistics. One of the cars that I listed, or another flashy/unique car, has a greater CHANCE of being pulled over. Im not saying that is all that gets pulled over, a police officer is just more likely to notice a car that stands out. Plus, zmetalmilitia never said the OP didnt break the law. There is just a chance he may not have gotten a ticket if he were in a different car.

Norm got his new Mustang!!

Norm got his new Mustang!!

Congrats Norm!!

<<Hey Norm, is it fun to drive??>>
Thanks, and . . .Yeah, it is. Even though I'm not pushing it much yet.

PS. the bank doesn't own a bit of it either.

PPS (and sort of on topic) the last ticket I got was in NC for 79 in a 65, driving an '01 Maxima.About 8 - 10 years ago, I think, and it was entirely legit. I've never got one for blowing through a STOP sign, but I did get an official (but somehow only verbal) warning for going through a light that went red too quickly to stop with safety. . . that one was over 40 years ago now. Some things you remember because you did get off easy, and to this day I'll work the brakes hard rather than run another one.

I'm not trying to sell it. That's my opinion, having lived it first hand.

yeah, that stuff always seems unfair, buuut, it keeps things better out there. (at least, thats the idea)
id agree with the stuff about some cars getting more attention. they just stand out more, and that means when you do somehting wrong, you havea greater chance of being watched while doing it becasue the eye is more likely to be drawn to it. the question of acctualy getting ticked is the same either way i think. but then again, ive gotten out of a few tickets by cops just kinda likeing my car and we start a conversation and they just kinda shrug it off after that.
(my car was actauly owned by a cop for years before me, in that town, NO cop bugs me lol)-
