honestly, the one thing that i learned is that if your gonna spend the money you might as well spend it on the best stuff, even though it might be more expensive. I would go with something like the afr 165 heads. They are awesome heads and will really bring the motor to life especially if you put in a bigger cam.

yeah but i cant see spending that much to raise the hp on a car that gets driven maybe 500 miles a year

so just to make sure i read all this correct,

for the gt40 heads i need the heads off of a 95-96 explorer with 2 casting marks and 1.7 rocker arms.

anything else?

ive heard its three bars on the front of the head. (raised parts, not indent) and 1.6 rockers, but those are pretty close

yeah they have three casting marks and they are from 96-97 i believe the casting number starts with f3 for 93 and also gt will be cast on near the lower head bolts

Now the hard part is probably trying to find a new piece of brass to shove into the carb. [:@]

update

both heads are off.
the a/c and p/s brackets are a pita but no more debris in the heads.

a quick run to the machine shop to get them cleaned and a valve job and they go back together
