Default C6 or FMX

Hey guys I wanted to know which would be better. I know there's got to be differing opinions on the subject but I'd like to know 'em. The FMX came stock with it but the problem I'm having really is I'd really like to get an aftermarket shifter and move it back to a more comfortable distance and the FMX only has maybe 3 choices i can find while the C6 has many. I have both trans at my disposal so I don't have to worry about finding either. Plus, I have 351 Windsor I can get ahold of easily (right now i just have a 302) will either of them bolt up just fine?

302 came with the c4 tranny, are you sure you have a fmx.
the fmx came with the 351w & 351c
