Default i need more torque

I have a 1970 mustang coupe and i was wondering whats the easiest most affordable way to add more torque to this car, the car is a little heavy being an older model but it runs hard with a v8351 engine..any suggestions?

Hurah! For the turbo diesel, gotta love um!! A pic with the best of both worlds.

change your rear gearing for instant bang for buck

if you're going to rebuild its not much more expensive to stroke it to 408 or even 427. That will give you torque but not a "cheap" fix.

i think a turbo diesel would be pretty bad in a car

not a stang, but can you imagine an old fairlane or galaxie with that much torque?

I'm from the Springs, just retired from the Navy and I'm headed back! Exciting stuff. I'm going to take the southern route from San Diego through Phoenix across the 40 and up the 25. Not sure I want to try the I 70. I will have all my tools and my car in the trailer. Too many mountain passes on the 70.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread. +1 on the rear gear. You will get the most bang for your buck with a lower gear.
