Default Sparks are never good

Replaced my battery and battery tray tonight. Being the idiot I amI touched the positive ground wire to the negative post with the battery hooked up. Blew up my starter solenoid real quick and good. Replaced that and now:
Open the door and I have interior lights
When I turn on the key my interior lights go out and the car is dead

Any idea's

I would first check the terminal connections on the battery, maybe take them off and reconnect them. and then check the other end of the negative terminal on the battery where it connects to the body frame.

that reminds me of my spark incident. My battery cable was cracked and when I tried to wiggle it off the terminal the raw part of the table came in contact with my air cleaner. Sparks were flying everywhere until I was able to get the cable off the air cleaner. I now have a dime sized whole on the snorkle of my air cleaner and my pants had 50 holes in them, along with some holes in my sweatshirt. was pretty cool looking though

Pssssshhhh! Whatever!$#%&$*$^# If it were a new car he'd most likely be replacing about $7,000 worth of computers, sensors and wiring harnesses.

BTW, I'm assuming you were being sarcastic, if not then yes, in this case owning a classic really is a joy, no expensive computer crap to fry.

This forum and my brother-in-law are a godsend for people like me. I love my car, love working on it and I know a little about a lot.

Went to bed last night pissed at myself and depressedwondering if I really screwed up the wiring. This morning I read your answers went out and cleaned the posts and the cables then reattached them nice and tight. Got in the car expecting nothing and lo and behold she started right up.

Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
