i'm curious as to why you didn't buy both front frame rails with the fenders installed. that's what we did on mine, when we found out both front rails were rotted, and some of the inner fenders aka engine bay area, so we just bought both sides with the towers installed, etc.

just wondering

I need to try to get something back out of it and its not going to sell for much in its current condition. That plus the fiberglass parts for the new car havent arrived yet.

Because the shock towers are still in good condition and the aprons are in decent condition. After forcing a lot of the aftermarket metal to fit i got tired of it. So, i figured i would just try it this way and at least i wouldnt have to take it all apart at once. Plus it was cheaper-unless you include the time for me labor.

oh, and you are correct, everybody does think they are full of bondo. I can assure you that they wouldnt have bothered replacing so many panels if they were just going to fill other places with bondo. Neither of these cars have bondo on them unless its a small skim coat around an area where an upgrade was added such as the gas filler or scoop area.,
Back off topic again...regarding the automotive urban legend of 13 pounds of bondo in each UP car. It may have had it's beginning in an ad from about 1971 from Volkswagon in which they trumpeted the fact that every Beetle had 13 pounds of paint on it. Someone probably joked about the UP cars having 13 pounds of bondo and the joke became "fact."
