I always just put them in and give them a light "bump" with an impact. I have never ever had any problems with them.

Same here. Torqued it once. They backed out a month later.

75 - 85 ft-lbs.Use some teflon pastetype pipe sealant on the threads to keep any oil from leaking out the holes. Tighten the bolts in stages in a criss-cross pattern.
