Default 4r70w slection help

I am doing a 4r70w swap into my 69 w/302 this summer. I have located two transmissions and need help deciding which one to get. I found a 01 mustang 4r70w from a v6 with only 10,000 miles and also one from a 99 v6 mustang with 60,000 miles. The newer one is $125 more, would it be worth it? I might be able to talk them down $50, would it be worth an extra $75? Both of them come with a 3 month warranty. Is there anything different between the years?
Thanks for the help.

think about it like this... $75 to delay rebuilding the tranny or replacing it... Personally i've barely put 10k miles on my C4 in the past 3yrs but if you're doing a daily driver certainly the extra$75 is worth it.

I also have only put about 10k miles on my c4 in the past 4 years. My intention is to drive it more once i do the swap. I guess i just wasn't sure if there was another reason to do the 99. $75 seems worth it but i don't know about an extra $125, 60k still isn't very many miles.

I got this e-mail from 5daddy13
" AOD went out on my "89 and have been doimg alot of research. Both 4r70w are the same tranny. Anything from '98 up is the same when matched with the same motor. Where you get into the difference is when you go to the 4.6 mod and 5.4. Everything I have read suggest that the 4.2L 4r70w is the better swap for the Windsor motor. It has the same internals as as th V8 but will still match-up to the Windsor. If you go with the 4.2L you will have to go with a 2 bolt starter and change the position of the shift lever because the tranny comes out of a truck. www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00080.html has alot of great info on the swap. Tried to post reply but my PC at work was giving me problems. Could you repost this info for the benefit of other folks? Thanks, James"
