Another Gas Price Thread...
I was hoping this thread had died.
I regret having ever made political comments in here.
Even if we don't all agree, at least we are passionate about what we DO believe, unlike many apathetic non-voting-it-doesn't-affect-me Americans.
I've got no hard feelings with anyone here and I hope y'all feel the same with me. Cheers.

Do gas prices concern me? Sure. And it crossed my mind more than once as I went through the new car buying process 1 - 3 months ago, though ultimately it did not change any MPG-related decisions there (see avatar, 4.6L, OE-optional shorter axle gearing, and I still had the tune installed as well). By active choice I live close enough to where I work, or have most of the time, such that commuting MPG is all but a non-issue. So 15-ish during the break-in periodin the '08 GT is hardly any different from the 18-ish that either of our two V6 cars manage during the week.
Liberal attempts to fix things scare me more as they tend to be knee-jerk in nature and nearly always involve a still bigger government (which is notoriously inefficient to begin with). As an automobile enthusiast, the last thing I want to see is still more arbitrary government interference relative to that facet of my life.
On the "sub-topic": I did vote for Bush, both of them, both times each and make no apologies for doing so. I simply felt that each was the better candidate at the time.

Crey i have a truck a 83 chevy 1ton and i use it every weekend and gas prices are killing me but i never bitch about it.My 68 mustang i drive daily gets 13mpg my truck gets 8mpg but id never sell or trade either of them for gas reasons i love them both.Only tip i can give everyone on gas prices is hit the truck stops there gas is cheaper try http://www.flyingj.com/ for prices around you.And fill up mid week tuesday wensday are the cheapest days most places. Some of the small mom and pop owned stations are starting to ofer cheaper gas if you pay with cash.A little trick i learned speedway has 10 cent off coupons for gas here and i know the clerk so i can get gas cheap with a whole stack of them.
