Default Tranny leak help

I have a C4 in my 66. There is a leak behind the bracket where the kickdown cable hooks on. I have been told there is an o ring behind there to replace. I was told if I take the nut off that I can pull a shaft out and replace it. How do I get the shaft out? I took the nut off last night, but I didnt want to start prying an wreck something. Thanks

Take off the kickdown bracket and that should expose the o-ring. It's not the type your thinking of. It's more like a timing chain cover seal. Use a pick, pull out, put in new.Just hold the kick down arm to keep it from going in the tranny.

If it looks split, there's you leak. But when you pull it out, it will be square from the sides. Only round looking at it from above, and it will be very hard also. Yeah, It will even feel like Nylon.
