Default 70 hoodscoop turnsignals

Does anyone have information on where to drill the big holes for the turn signal lights in the hoodscoop for a 70 mustang?I have the aftermarket scoop on(took a long time to make it fit right, and look right),I ve had it on the car for a few years now but am chicken to cut the big holes out for fear of putting them in the wrong place.if anyone could post a pic of the underside of the hood where its obvious where to drill,or even with the scoop removed to show it from the top,it would help me out a lot, thanks

I've got the perfect pictures for you off my 69. I've made them larger so you can have better quality but they shouldn't be too big. If you want me to hold a measuring tape up to it and take a pic for you I'd be happy to do so, just let me know

About how hard would you say is it to put in that wiring harness for the scoop signal things? Our hoodscoop already has the lenses in it, but it doesn't have the wiring for it, and I'm hesitant to order the harness since we've got the orignal wiring in the car and don't know how hard it would be to add that into the old wires.

Oh it is very easy, it just plugs into this other strand that is coming from the front turn signals. From there you just have to figure out which bulb is which, the shorter one is going to be the driver side, longer passenger side. the bulbs just push right into the housing in the scoop. From there you just need to bolt the ground on the hood or where ever else which wasn't a problem, because there was a hole on the right side for it. the excess wire (its a long ground wire) I simply bunched together and ziptied it then tucked it up into the hood.

I suggest ordering it, its rather straight forward, took me like 5 minutes to put on (then again I knew how to do it already haha). I think the turn signals are so cool and everyone in my car is like "woah! the hood blinks!". Just something cool that should be done

oh and EDIT, do you happen to have an extra free wiring harness that isn't plugged in? because that would be for scoops, its two prongs I believe, maybe 3. All I know is that harness goes to the turn signals up front which tie into the main wiring harness, then in turn that plugs into the hood scoop harness.

That's what I thought, but everytime I go look at the wiring I don't see any spot that has open plugs where it would just plug in, I think that's been what's confusing me. Might you have a picture handy of the connection so I have a better idea?

I don't have any that I could find right now, and my mom has the camera for the weekend. When I get it back (Or if I find another camera around here) I'll take some shots for you, PM if I forget

Yeah, that's be great. I'm probably just looking in the wrong spot for the connector. After I had to do a bit of rewiring on my grand prix to change around the headlight operation, wires have just been annoying to me.

well then look around the master cylinder and all that for the connection to plug the turn signal harness connection

if you don't find anything there look to see where your up front turn signals connect to. Then follow that to see if it goes into a long, thin wiring harness This thin harness should be following the main harness along the fender aprons, you might be able to see this thin harness in the pictures I posted above

I just wired my harness in.Went to the auto parts store, got some 14gauge wire,2 inline connectors,a 2 prong plug for the harness end and a cover tube for the wires,5 ft long.
I made a harness extension and ran it alongside the main harness till I got to the area underneath the washer fluid bottle.I removed the covering tape from the old harness to separate the wires(washer bottle removed).I proved the white wire with the blue stripe was the right signal and the green wire w/white stripe was the left signal.Look at the plug for the signal lights themselves to find the match. There will be 2 of the same colored wires going into one side if the connector.
I made my connection in the location under the washer bottle, made sure I was right with a test light, then taped it all up again.Reinstalled washer bottle and that was it.now I have a quick,2 prong connector up there waiting for me when Im ready to put the lights in.
