need materials help

Default need materials help

i want to make a console similiar to the shelby ones where can i pick up a sheet of aluminum that i can bend and cut to the correct shape and size? would home depot lowes carry this type of material thanks in advance for the help

My advice would be to go and check them out for yourself. I've never looked for aluminum at Home Depot, or Lowes but you never know.

If you can't find it there, try a scrap yard or junk yard. The one by my house has many sizes of different types of metals. You might find some there.

Shelby console is a cougar one your talking about the eleanor one they just stuck aluminum over the factory ford one.

im taking about this one im This seems like a pretty simple design the only hard part would be shaping the aluminum

Find a willson art laminate dealer. I use the brushed aluminum all the time.
You need someone that knows how to cut it without it splitting or breaking. Make a template 1st.
Gluing it down with contact cement is tricky also. just tape up what you dont want glue on and you get one shot to put it down right.

Practice with some scraps 1st you'll catch on quick.
