No, the curved ones are designed to be used on engines with the oval carb air cleaners.
My air cleaner is the old factory one with the snorkel.

Get the straight one. It works just fine. Lets not forget about the subframe.

The curved one does give better access to the distributor cap but flexes more than the straight one. Your choice.

If you are trying to stiffen up your pony, the Monte Carlo bar and the Export brace are only part of the fix.

What horseshoeing was eluding to, was the sub frame connectors. They connect the front and rear frame rails together. Mustangs are a unibody car so the body of the car acts as support instead of a full chassis. This also helps control flexing in the car when cornering. Adding sub frame connectors along with the Monte Carlo bar, Export brace, bigger front anti-sway bar, a rear anti-sway bar makes any mustang handle with the best of them.

Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, I know about those, but don't plan to do any racing with this old girl, so I ain't worried about cornering at high speeds. She has a solid subframe already. New suspension parts is all I needed to stiffen her back up to factory specs for general driving purposes, which is what I do with her. Now, If I want to race around corners, I step into my 03 Mach1.
