Also, Marti does not do reports for anything prior to 67. No records. They were destroyed by Ford years ago.
So Marti cannot do a report on a 64.5, 65, or 66? That kinda stinks.

I have to dissagree with you on this one Urban Cowboy. Yes, the 64.5 has a little more value, but not much more than a 65/66, plus a $36K car should have no filler in rust areas, it should have had metal replaced.

NADA has the Average retailvaluelisted at $38.4Kwith High retail at $71K. (I didn't see 289/210HP listed so I chose 289/225 HP?) The definition of average retail sounds about inline with the way it was described in previous posts....maybe somewhere between average and high.

Average Retail Value
This vehicle would be in good condition overall. It could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. A "20-footer".

High Retail Value
This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition. Note: This value does not
represent a "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle *.

My main concern would be if the numbers matched, and whether all the options listed were original equipment.....I'd go over it with a fine tooth comb, and decode/compare all the numbers. If they match and the car is in the condition blackbeauty described and the numbers match, then it is probably worth somewhere close to what they are asking for it.

For that kind of money, you might get a second appraisal done.

Bottom line a classic 64 1/2for 36k is a good buy if things were done right number matching etc. If this car has filler used I would expect more mickey mouse all over the car. You may not see it but a can tell you its there. Be carefull. If you are willing to spend 30k+ on a mustang, I would contact an auction house which has all their vehicles inspected to the T before hand.

p.s.

Any time you say filler and 30k in the same post the answer is no
