Carpet underlayment? What is this stuff?
snorulz.. ahh ok. I got that info from an audio shop here. The guy I was talking to said he ordered a couple years ago. So yeah that may have changed.
ninteen66mustang.. Dynamat is ungodly expensive (as baddog671 so put) and is not the quoted best stuff out there.. its good but not the best. Also Dynamat (Butyl based) and FatMat (Asphalt based) are complete different makeups. If your looking for the Butyl I'd suggest the Second Skin products like Damplifier Pro. It is still expensive but overall better than the Asphalt based products. If your looking to save and go with Asphalt then I'd suggest FatMat or B-Quiet Ultimate.
I'm not putting down products like FatMat as many people here have used them and are very happy. Its just that the Butyl products do perform better.
I'd love to see results from the same tests over at Sound Deadener Showdown done in a more scientific lab from an independent source. Add to the tests would be an audio test to see what the sound dampening difference are as well.

hey baddog, whats the thickness difference between fatmat and peelnseal? cause in all pictures the peelnseal looks the same thickness as fatmat
but according to this, it looks to me like peelnseal is about the same as the bquiet ultimate. which is pretty thick.

I think you guys are way over thinking this. Everyone talks about butyl being better than ashphalt product, but is the cost difference worth it? Or, is it a marketing ploy. Anything laying on the floor, covered by carpet, isn't going anywhere. Vertical adhesion is not a big issue, unless you're worried about the firewall. If that's the case, use something different on the vertical surfaces.
I've had eDead in my car for 2 years and have had no issues with adhesion on the firewhatsoever.
