Default Door Handles

I am considering shaving the door handles off of my 79 mustang. I want to replace them with the 73?-82 style corvette door handles for a nice clean look. However, I am unsure of the problems this could present and wanted to know if you guys have shaved the door handles off of your cars and what problems you had in doing so. Thanks!

I have considered this mod as well for my 65. I have not fully decided what to do. I may still attempt it but will ponder more on it when the time comes. I posted this question about a year ago and someone posted a pic of sonny or chers car that had this mod.

Haha, I just noticed that myself. It was early in the morning for me and I was dramatically fighting off sleep, so yes it would be my 70 mustang not 79. God only knows why anyone would own one. First generation is the only way to go.

I want to shave as wellbut wanted to have a handle that is more concealed. I will still have the actuators to pop the door open but it is a daily driver and would like to have an entry into the car incase of emergency or in case the actuators failed. I dont have 100% confidence in anything that is electrical.

I like the handles on these cars, but shaving would look awesome as well!

I'm concerned about how the door handles from the 70's vette's would fit/work. They would have to be up top along the window sill wouldn't they? and i know they wont fit there and i would think they would look kinda goofy sitting on the side of the car. I would first figure out if those door handles have to be upright to work properly before diving too far in.
