HOOD HINGES
If they are in good shape, no reason to replace them. I have 41 year old hinges on my car that are better than any reproduction out the.
The finish should be phosphate and oil.
Two places you can get the phosphate material needed to finish.

My original hinges require quite a bit of muscle to open/close. The hood stays exactly wherever you leave it. Of course they're a bad rusty color that I don't care for, but the hassle of fixing that isn't worth it right now.
I definately want to keep my original hinges. They are in excellent condition. Just need new finish. I have cleaned then down to shiney metal. now I want them to look original. Thanks for all the help.
