dam those pics are a great laugh specially since i just came back from filling up my car. yesterday i saw it at 3.67 after i got out of work to lazy to fill it up, today i took my little boy to the doctor and my low fuel light came on so i went to fill up and saw it a 3.72.[>:] stupid me for procastination i paid .05 cents more per gallon. i actually thought it might go down acouple of more cents but it went up instead.

 

Prices are not going to come down any time soon. Oil hit another record today. We are over $4.00/gallon for regular here and I would not be surprised to see $4.50 - $5.00 within the next couple months. Seriously.

I am already paying $4.29 for 91 octane. I can't complain but I have to admit I am driving less.

 

I think its rediculous that congress is asking companys about profits, this is capitalism right? If we actually opened refineries and prospecting in and around the US, even acting like we are going to do it will cause prices to go down dramatically, the middle east cant afford to lose our business.

 

yes they can, which is why the price is where it is now. China and India have massive emerging middle classes and they want theconsumer goods that we've taken for granted for the last 50 years. Oil is in high demand for all sorts of manufacturing as well asheating and, in China, they use it for power production. Its not just about oil for gas and its going to get worse.Used V8s are about to become very cheap and new ones very rare

we're up around $7.20per gallonat the moment and it would be a lot worse except for the Aussie$ gaining against the greenback.

 

i hear that american airlines is going to cut their employees by 15% tomorrow..and thata barrel of oil willincrease by 4.00$ more by tomorrows end of trading (todays was 134$ a barrel) and that after holiday weekend airlines will be charging 15$ for your first carry on and 30$ for second carry on. hopefully my information is wrong...but it was from someone who trades on wall street.

 

I just filled up with 91 today for $4.05/gallon. I remember this time last year I went to downtown LA and saw it at 4 bucks a gallon and was like OMG haha since it was like 50 cents cheaper in Long Beach. But here we are now with the prices even higher, and people are still driving everywhere.

It just sucks driving back and forth to school every day, which is 12 miles for me. Oh well, at least I get to do it in a mustang!

My DD is a 2005 OHC V6 Mustang. At 210 HP it still has get up and go if I want it but if I put it on cruise control at 65 it gets 30 MPG. In town with the stop and go is much worse...about 19. Luckily my commute is just 2 miles. The oil companies and oil exporting nations are not charging $130 a barrel. It's the speculators buying oil futures who are driving the prices up. Oil will crash. It's done it before and the world (not just us) cannot support $130 oil for a sustained period. When bubbles like this happen they always appear to be permanent. Just like the tech bubble in the stock market not that long ago. Remember when the NASDAQ was at 6,000. It's went down to below 2,000 and is now at 2,450. Microsoft and Yahoo were selling well over $100 and people were convinced it would all just keep going up and up and up. Bubbles always burst. Checked the price of houses in Las Vegas, Chicago or LA lately? Everyone thought those prices would just keep going up 20 - 40 - even 50 percent per year too. We are in for a painful 2008 and maybe into 2009 but not much longer than that. By the way, the last oil bubble took it to $40 and it crashed to a little over $10. I believe former Gov. Connolly of Texas went bankrupt on that deal.

if you really compare gas prices to everything else in our economy since say 1965, gas should be about 4.00 a gallon if it went up like everything else did, I'm paying almost 5.00 a gallon for diesel now. My 408 stroker loves 91 octane and sucks it down fast, I wish I built a 5.0 twin turbo instead. Blame it on our politicians, especially the liberals (marxists) they would rather save a species of flea that is on polar bears than drill for oil in Alaska, the liberals will buy micro smart cars to get 50 mpg's, they don't own motorhomes, they dont run buisneses like I do that require 8 mpg vans to provide service for people, they would rather save a flea and pay 9.00 a gallon gas.

I can live with 4.00 a gallon, but we need to tap our own resources, coal to oil, coal to synthetic oil, drill the gulf coast and Alaska, we have the best technology (green technology) in the world that all the other countries are using but US because of you liberal wackos that are too concerned about a species of flea or bird or growing corn for ethanol instead of food, global warming is a crock of S.....t, as we have had the coldest winter on record, Al Gore is full of it and I was pissed he got a nobel prize over a woman who save 10's of thousand of Jews in WW 2, if you want to get Hillary or Obama in the white house, be prepared for 9.00-10.00 a gallon and let the Arabs control our economy, we will be headed for the biggest depression ever seen. Wake up America, we need to tap our own resouces and quit depending on our enemies to supply our fuel.

Funny thing, I live in So Cal, diesel is 4.85 a gallon, reg is 3.89 a gallon, I drive to Mexico and diesel is 2.05 a gallon and reg 87 octane is 2.35 a gallon. Hmmmmmmmm. We want to go fast, we want to tow our trailers, do our business, drive our motor homes......

bottom line is we have to drill our own oil, we can keep giving our money to the Arabs so they can destroy our country, buy them more weapons to use against us and kill our people OR we can produce our own fuel, create Jobs and keep our economy competetive with the world. WAKE UP! Let your voices be heard, let our politicians know they are on there way out if they dont go along with our WILL, oil just hit 130.00 a barrel, going to people who hate us in the middle east and south america............you want to drive a micro smart car and get t boned by a f-450 pick up? wake the F up!
