Jim, I told you not to tell, now EVERYONE is going to be buying those things!!!

It was a 95GeoMetro, 1L 3cylinder w/ 5speed. EPA's around 40mpg (and thats what most people get), but I had some minor mods done to it and a perfected driving habit. I know people that can get well over 100mpg in 1 of those things...
funny there was another forum i visit that had a link to a story where this lady paid $7500 for a 10 yr old + geo metro becuase it was "going to save her money on gas" she paid $1500 less then what the car sold for originally and she bought it off EBAY.

sadly shes an engineer and thought spending $7500 on a car that she will probably get rid of in 2 yrs was going to save her money now on gas, i mean after all no one looks at what they are spending on the car up front and how long they would have to own it to actually benefit ..

I'll say it....Damn liberals! The reason we are in this position is too much "help". Should I just sign my paycheck over now and you can give me an allowance? I'm tired of my taxes going up constantly because we want to support those that can't (won't). I'll tell you what, I'll give you my paycheck and you pay my mortgage, fill my tank, feed me, give me free medical care....what will this do to the economy? So, no, I cannot see how your way of thinking is better for the majority..only for those too lazy to get off their asses.

For the rest of you..how long are we going to take this and what are we going to do about it? If we would tell the tree huggers where to go and do our own drilling, the price of oil and everything related to it (including solar panels) would come back to reality and we would all have a better quality of life. Ok, I'm done with my rant.
+1 Rant on brother....[sm=exactly.gif]

Very well articulated argument. You'll feel differently if you ever find yourself down and out and actually need some help from your fellow Americans. But yeah, rant on.

Europe pays like 7-8 per gallon? They also get free health care if I'm not mistaken? I'd much rather pay higher gas and get free health care.

Shawn,

In the majority of Europe free health careis notuniversally availableit is always means tested and all but the very poor pay private health care, except the UK is free health care andyou pay for it in taxes. I pay a very low rate of tax for the netherlands (30%) and I pay health insurance most people pay 42% tax. I prefere the european model to the US model having lived in both but I am a leftie!!

I know that "Stuff" happens to some people, and maybe they need a helping hand....but rarelydo these kind of thingshappen to those that are willing to work. I have been laid off from my job before, and chose not to take unemployment checks....I don't want charity from you are anybody else. Any person with any amount of self esteem wouldn't want to take charity. I wouldalmost rather die, before I lived off welfare....and I don't want to pay taxes so that some lazy Bass turd can.

Work hard and take care of yourself. Don't ask me for a handout.
