Default 1968 Mustang rocker panel molding

My Son and I are restoring a 1968 mustang coupe and need some advice reinstalling the rocker panel molding. The new clips went on easy enough but the tabs are so close to the body that there does not seem to be enough room to slide the molding on. Does it slide in from one end? Your advise would be helpful, Thanks Frank

It pops on. Try to start the bottom first and smack the top with your hand. Be careful not to hit too hard as it will warp easy. Sometimes I have to squeeze it together to get a snug fit.

Oh yeh, theirmay be a couple of retainers that go in each end of the cover with a stud. I think the 68's have them, and if so, you will see the holes. Its has been a while since I've donea 68though.
