Default Watershield Replacement

All,

I'm removed the door panels and am now looking to replace the watershields on the doors. It use to have some paperlike watershield...i'm wondering if I can replace this with plastic like on newer model cars or replace with same type of stuff it had before. What do you all recommend? and where can I get it? Also can I use silicone or double sided tape?

Thanks.

I would just buy replacement watershields that are new but designed like the originals. They are cheap and work great. Use the 3M watershield adhesive sold at most mustang part houses. cjponyparts, npd, etc.
