When I say 'show', I'm referring to MCA show quality. Yeah, a T code will be fine as a full restomod, but it won't win any of the more sought-after awards unless it's restored as a rare-optioned T code, and even then it may be very difficult. An MCA award winning show car is going to be worth more to a collector (who will likely show it) than a T code with a V8 stuffed in it.

My point is, it's the people buying the show cars that are driving prices up on the more desirable optioned cars. They're willing to pay more than they're worth to the rest of us who are fine starting with a cheap T code body and doing a V8 resto with it. To us it's just a digit in the VIN, to the restoration/show crowd it's more than that.

The nail on the head!!!!! I was just trying to point out that you can still do well at shows You just have to do your car with your end goal in mind.
