Rust Converters?

Default Rust Converters?

ok so my paint inside the cowl has started to chip away and so some surface rust has started to develope i can't and don't want to open up the cowl is there a good rust converter i can spray in there to fix this up its been a Ca NV car its while life so i doubt theres any other rust going on i would like to use picklex 20 but does anyone know of better rust converters i could get into the cowl im planing use this stuff then spray some dudlicolor bedliner in ther after wards thanks for the help in advance

There's multiple products out there. Most are a Phosphoric Acid deritive that when applied to the rust (iron oxide) hardens into an inert Iron Phosphate. Some items such as Ospho can be put in a spray bottle and sprayed onto the surface. Other are more paintlike and have to be brushed on. Your situation inside the cowl is a bit of a situation, as it's hard to brush. You can spray, but then you need to brush off the loose material afterwards somehow before applying the bedliner.

ima tape off the cowl vents pretty good before spraying it and was just thinking of using a pipe cleaner to brush off the extra material has nayone heard of picklex 20 ive seen some before and after picks on a rambler forum that look real good it comes in a spray bottle to begin with and is why im leaning towards it and i can get it on ebay for a decent price

i use rust mort. the only real problem is that after you put the converter on and wash it off like the directions say it will rust again immediately. I am not on my personal computer so I cant post pics of what it does.
