Default toploader 3 spd strength?

i had someone give me a toploader 3 spd out of a 66 stang that i was plannoing on just selling. but i just read that they are practicly indestructible.. how 'indesructible' are they? now im thinking of putting it in my stang until i can get a strong t5 or something

thanks

What do you have in it now? While the 3.03 3spd's are very strong, they're not that fun to drive. Unless you have a 2.77 3sp, I wouldn't bother.

its just a i6 3spd (im doing an i6 to 351w conversion) and im on a tight budget so id rather save money to get it on the road where i can

So the 2.77, then. Use the 3.03 Just make sure it's for a Mustang and not something else; Mustang tranny's have specific tailhousings with the shifter mounted at the rear of the housing.
