Gas tank
I decided to stick with the 16 gallon tank.
I drive the car to work one day a week (about maybe 10 miles round trip), around some on Saturday / Sunday, etc.
I drive maybe 25 to 30 miles / week so the capcity really isn't an issue with me.
I drove the car today and it has about a quarter tank left in it. Going to try and burn some of the rest of that off between now and next Friday...in a week + two days I should be able to run it pretty dry. Just have to make sure not to run out of gas, LOL!
Off to look around for paint ideas.

So far for paint I have found the Bill Hirsch products and a couple of products from Eastwood.
Anyone have any experience with either for items such as painting a chasis or underside of a gas tank?

I think you're putting too much thought into this painting step. Buy arattle can of SEM self-etching primer and a $4.99 rattle can of Kryon flat/semi-gloss and have at it.
Unless you travel on gravel roads a lot, the paint will last for years.

If your car has ever had any trunk seal leaks due to cracked deck lid weatherstipping, you might have some rust in the fuel tank bolts.
I know this is obvious, but watch for sparks taking the bolts out. treat the bolt heads with some motor oil first. Also, definitely change the float now that i's out of the car. Floats are only a buck or two and your old one may be leaky if your gas gauge never hits F.

It would be a great time to install a steel divider, goes between the rear seat and trunk. Its easy to do when the tank is out. Of course the rear seat has to come out, buts thats easy. If you need to keep the concours look, then use a clear once cleaned. I have a couple that I keep sprayed down with WD40 on the concours cars, its a pain, but they look stock and it keeps the corrosion knocked.
