Default 65 Headlight wiring question

Found out that the guy I bought the stang from cut the wire harness 6-7 inches before the headlight and turn signal.

There is 5 wires, want color wires go to the back of the headlight. And with color to the top connector and the left and right connector, if your looking at the back of the lamp.

Also what colors go to the Turn signal?

A few inches after the horn connector, there is another T-connector coming off of the headlight wire, anyone know where this goes to?

"A few inches after the horn connector, there is another T-connector coming off of the headlight wire, anyone know where this goes to?"

Mine goes across the top of the radiator leaving the driver's side headlight then plugs into the first horn, then the second horn. Right after the plug for the second horn there is a black wire that T's off and is bolted / screwed to the frame. Some sort of ground wire I suppose.

I don't happen to have my headlight bucket apart at the moment and my kids are driving me nuts. But I ran out to the garage real fast and looked as best I could with everything hooked together.

It appears that there are a black with yellow stripe wire and a green with white stripe wire that plug into the blue and black wire coming from the park light. There is a brown wire that also runs between the park light and headlight.

It also looks like there is a green wire and a red wire running towards the back of the headlight.

I have the FoMoCo shop wiring manual and I can look through it later after the boys go to sleep if you need?

As a side note...." Found out that the guy I bought the stang from cut the wire harness 6-7 inches before the headlight and turn signal. "

Doesn't that just totally **** you off? I have spent hours trying to figure out half *** splice jobs without factory color wiring and finally decided to just rewire my whole car. You sure the guy who used to own your car didn't own mine at one time as well?

I replaced my whole headlight harness, put in new park lights, etc. It was not difficult to do at all but in the process of doing the headlight harness I had to buy an alternator harness as well and then guess a bit at how to hook it up. The previous owner of my car had spliced a bunch of crap in instead of buying the right alternator harness. Hard to guess when all three existing wires are all the same color white. I figured it out and go the two new harnesses in but sure pissed me off.

Thats wat I was thinking about the ground wire.

I would just buy the new headlight/horn harness but it ~$100. If I can just make some connector that look good for now, I will be happy.

I found a schematic somewhere, gives me the colors now I need to know which connector they go into lol. If someone doesnt come along, and if you dont mind, if you could look it up I would appreciate it.

I had a fast look at the "chasis wiring diagram" for the 64 - 66 Stangs.

It seems to indicate that from each headlamp there should be a green / black wire and a red / black wire going from the headlamps to the headlamp dimmer switch.

For the park lights....

The left side should have a black / yellow going from the park light to the lighting switch and a Green / white going from the park light to the turn signal switch.

The right side should have a black / yellow going from the lamp to the lighting switch and a white / blue going to the turn signal switch.

Appears to be a black ground wire on all the lights if I am reading the wire diagram right.

Thanks for looking! By left and right on the parking do you mean passenger and driver....or??

Now I just need to know which connectors the colors plug into.

That appears to match the driver's side on my '66 so they must mean left in the sense of if you are sitting in the car looking forward.

If I get a chance later, I can try to take the headlight out of mine really fast and see which wire appears to be attached to which stem on the headlight itself but can't promise I will have a chance. Kind of hard to see back there without taking the bucket apart.

Are you having trouble with the driver's or passenger's side?

Passenger side.

Anyone else have the bucket off at the moment. Dont want to have SJ doing all the work. [&:]

Got connectors and wires made today for the headlights, just need to know which color goes to what.
